We came from Turkey and France.
We came to Tokushima city for the first time and experienced Awa Odori.

Although I danced for the first time, everyone accepted us, we forgot the time because we are fun anyway.
We danced from the beginning to the end.

About Awa Odori.

“Awa Odori” held in August in Tokushima seems to be dancing next to Rio’s carnival.
The Awa Odori in Tokushima city seems to be crowded with more than 1.3 million people every year.
Contemporary Awa Odori with a beautiful show element is also wonderful, but the beginning was the honest pleasure of ordinary people, the appearance of joy.

The Awa Odori of this time was a dance freely dancing with free clothes according to the drum on the toy.
I heard that this is the Awa Odori style of the past.

Awa Odori is a dance that anyone can freely enjoy, as it is said “Awa Odori if you carry your feet with your hands up”.

In 1586 the lord of Tokushima behaved eating and drinking to the town people when the castle was inaugurated. And I started dancing.
This is considered the beginning of “Awa Odori”.

After that, we continued dancing in the castle town throughout the Edo period.
