Every year from August 12th-15th is the famous Awa Odori festival located in the Tokushima prefecture of Japan. The Awa Odori festival features the traditional dance and music of old Tokushima.
Awa Odori Kaikan is the best way to get a taste of the Awa Odori festival before the Awa Odori festival. For those that cannot make it to the Awa Odori festival, the Awa Odori Kaikan is the best place to go to learn about the history of the dance and even how to do the dance!

All of this costs about 1000 yen for a lively and comedic performance and show. Personally, I feel that the Awa Odori Kaikan serves its purpose of sharing what the dance is about to tourists and locals alike. But, the Awa Odori Kaikan can never replace the Awa Odori festival, which is the real deal.
